Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, says there was no terrorist group in his domain, and warned against the spread of untrue information about the town.
The royal father, who was reacting to a report that claimed a security group of the Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen, a religious group based in Iwo, was a terrorist group, said the report was a deliberate move to castrate the security muscle of Iwo by decimating the strength of Jaysu Security Network.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the monarch, Alli Ibraheem, yesterday, the Royal Father said the security network was the most trusted and active in the town, adding that it operatives were working directly with the police.
Oluwo, who threatened to get those peddling untrue stories about his community arrested, also said those behind the rumour were out to discredit the most peaceful town in Nigeria.
