The Kano State Police Command has arrested three (3) suspects, Bazallahi Umar, 20 years old, Abdullahi Umar, 20 years old, and Abubakar Sani, 23 years old and recovered weapons following a clash between rival thug groups in Kabara and Magashi Quarters, Kano, on Wednesday, 28th January 2026 at about 10:53pm.
According to report, the fight, allegedly led by Usaini Noni of Kabara Quarters and Umar Tautau of Magashi Quarters, terrorized residents and resulted in the death of one person, Adam Badamasi AKA ‘Choli’, while two others; Ahmed Basiru, and Akilu Usman sustained injuries.
In a press released dated yesterday, by the Command’s Public relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, he disclosed that Upon receipt of the report, combined teams of Police Officers swiftly responded to the incident, and met a rowdy scene with members of various vigilante groups.
He added that the area was immediately cordoned off, with three injured people who were rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where one was certified dead. The command’s PRO noted that police operations were sustained in the area, and normalcy was restored.
While the state Police command has directed a discreet investigation to be conducted with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice, the Kano state commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adams Bakori reassures the public of their commitment to protecting lives and property and urge residents to provide timely information to security agencies.
