African Media Communication and Consulting is committed to telling powerful African business stories that inspire, inform, and shape corporate discourse. We spotlight leaders whose journeys reflect purpose-driven ambition, strategic thinking, and impact across industries. In this edition of our Business Leadership Spotlight, we feature Faith Mukutu, a trailblazer whose career exemplifies resilience, adaptability, and visionary leadership.
Passion and aspiration are among the most powerful forces shaping professional journeys. Faith Mukutu’s path began with an ambition to become a medical doctor. However, as her career unfolded, she discovered a deeper calling in finance, one that allowed her analytical strengths and strategic mindset to flourish. This pivotal shift laid the foundation for a distinguished career in corporate leadership and financial management.
Today, Faith Mukutu serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Zambeef Products Plc, making history as the first woman to lead the company in its 28-year existence. Her appointment reflects a proven track record in strategic planning, financial stewardship, and corporate governance, capabilities that continue to drive Zambeef’s growth and resilience.
A qualified accountant, Mukutu joined Zambeef in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer, where she played a central role in strengthening financial performance, enhancing operational efficiencies, and reinforcing governance structures. Her impact and leadership quickly set her apart, culminating in her elevation to CEO.
Zambeef Products Plc operates across the full agricultural value chain, spanning primary production, processing, distribution, and retail. Its diverse portfolio includes beef, poultry, pork, dairy products, fish, flour, and stock feed. With 236 retail outlets across Zambia and parts of West Africa, Zambeef is a critical contributor to food security, employment, and regional agricultural development.
Beyond her executive role, Faith Mukutu brings strategic insight to multiple corporate boards. She currently serves as a board member of National Breweries Plc, Bayport Financial Services Ltd., Zayohub Zambia Ltd., and Good Nature Agro Products Ltd.
Her professional affiliation with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants further highlights her commitment to ethical leadership and professional excellence.
Her career spans several sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and financial services. Previously, she served as a Director at Zambia Sugar Plc and worked as an Accountant at Zambian Breweries Plc, building deep expertise within complex, capital-intensive industries. Her experience also extends beyond Zambia through her directorship at Heinrich’s Syndicate Ltd., reflecting her engagement in regional and international business environments.
Faith Mukutu’s influence extends beyond the boardroom. She recently participated in a high-level panel at the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Japan, during a side event themed “Building Sustainable Agri-Value Chains to Boost Africa’s Growth.” There, she emphasized the importance of expanding farmer’s access to inputs, technology, skills, financing, and markets as a pathway to resilient agri-value chains and long-term food security.
Her participation at TICAD 9 highlights Zambeef’s commitment to sustainable socio-economic development driven by innovation, inclusivity, and integrated agricultural systems.
In recognition of her impact, The Africa Report ranked Faith Mukutu 5th among the Top 10 Women Reshaping Zambian Business in late 2025. She also leads the “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” corporate social responsibility initiative, which has distributed thousands of pairs of shoes to vulnerable school children in districts such as Mpongwe and Mazabuka, demonstrating leadership that blends commercial success with social responsibility.
Spanning finance, agriculture, and regional development, Faith Mukutu’s journey is a powerful testament to visionary leadership and perseverance. Her story reflects the evolving face of African corporate leadership, one defined by competence, courage, and impact.
At African Media Communication and Consulting, we remain dedicated to amplifying such stories, supporting brands, institutions, and leaders with strategic communications that drive influence, credibility, and business growth across Africa.
