A somber mood has enveloped the Nigerian Law School after a Yola campus student, Ayomiposi Ojajuni, passed away just days before the Bar Final Exams.
Ojajuni, a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, was reportedly devastated after learning he would not be allowed to sit for the exams due to disciplinary issues. The sudden restriction left him emotionally shaken, despite months of preparation.
He was taken to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital for treatment but sadly died the following day. The incident has sparked grief on campus and online, renewing calls for more humane disciplinary processes and stronger mental-health support in schools.
Should institutions rethink how they handle student discipline, especially when the consequences are life-altering?
